Spencer Lueders
Owner & President
Spencer Lueders is an entrepreneur, attorney, engineer, and community leader who believes that lasting success is built on trust, relationships, and a commitment to doing things the right way. As Owner and President of State Building Services, Spencer has built the company around a simple philosophy: deliver exceptional craftsmanship, communicate proactively, and treat every client’s property as if it were his own.
After acquiring and relaunching State Building Services in 2016, Spencer has led the company’s growth into one of the Southeast’s premier providers of commercial stone, metal, wood, and specialty surface restoration and maintenance services. Today, the company serves many of the region’s most respected commercial property owners and managers, helping them protect and enhance some of their most valuable assets.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Spencer attended the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering while competing as a varsity soccer goalkeeper. He later returned to the University of South Carolina School of Law to earn his Juris Doctor. His diverse professional background in engineering, law, operations, and business ownership provides a unique perspective on problem-solving and leadership.
Spencer is perhaps best known in the Charlotte community as the founder of 24 Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting cancer survivors and improving cancer navigation programs. What began as a grassroots cycling event has grown into an organization that has raised more than $30 million for cancer-related programs and services. Through this work, Spencer has helped thousands of individuals and families facing cancer while building a legacy of service that continues today.
The same principles that guided the creation of 24 Foundation—integrity, perseverance, teamwork, and service—also shape the culture of State Building Services. Spencer believes that technical expertise alone is not enough. Long-term partnerships are built through consistency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to helping clients succeed.
Spencer remains actively involved in the day-to-day operation of State Building Services, working closely with clients and team members to ensure the company continues to deliver the expertise, responsiveness, and service excellence that have become hallmarks of the State brand.

Vince Rutter
Operations Manager
With more than 30 years of experience, Vince Rutter has developed unrivaled expertise in metal. Vince began his metal restoration career in 1984 in Houston, TX, and quickly advanced into more experienced roles and management duties in Houston and Austin, TX, including managing teams of technicians, quality control, inventory, fleet management, and client services and sales operations.
Vince continued his career in California, restoring and maintaining metal throughout the greater Los Angeles area, including refinishing the famous, 30-foot bronze Emmy statue in North Hollywood, CA. Vince returned to the South as Operations Manager for a national restoration company, overseeing dozens of technicians for more than a decade, serving clients such as Ann Taylor, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., and Apple.
