Here are some basic cleaning tips for some of the most common metal surfaces.
Coated metal:
For normal cleaning, wipe coated metal surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in mild soap and warm water. Rinse and wipe dry. Don’t use harsh cleaners, solvents, or abrasive cleaners to keep from removing the finish.
Polished aluminum:
Wipe clean with a dampened, soft cloth. Dry with a clean soft cloth. A pre-softened paste wax can protect the polished aluminum finish between professional treatments.
Chrome:
Bright, shiny chromed surfaces can be easily scratched with abrasive cleansers or cleaning tools. Choose a soft damp, cloth and a mild detergent for cleaning. Rinse and wipe dry.
Stainless steel:
Durable and resilient, a soft touch with a Scotchbrite pad can remove superficial scuffs and restore the surface to like new. Be careful, though, as more damage could occur. Best leave that to the pros! Clean with a soft, damp cloth.
